Face It Foundation

We empower men to recover from depression.

The problem is real

  • Men die by suicide roughly 3.88x to 4x more often than women.
  • Only 40% of men with a mental illness receive treatment, compared to 52% of women.
  • 40% of men surveyed would not speak to anyone about their mental health, with 29% citing embarrassment.
  • The biggest causes of mental health issues in men are work (32%), finances (31%), and health (23%).

Face It is Impacting Lives

Millions of men experience depression, but far fewer seek help. The Face It Foundation gives men the support they need to face depression, take control of their recovery and get their lives back. The generous donations of organizations and individuals ensure that our services and resources are free for the men who need them. Face It was founded in 2009 with the goal to help men understand and recover from depression, and reduce the rate of male suicide. We provide men’s support groups, one-on-one peer support, outreach events, public education, and training for mental health professionals.
