Freshening up our flagship

Minnesota Masonry’s flagship charity, Minnesota Masonic Home, has weathered a lot over the past year. To keep the 100-year-old gem looking and performing its best, MMC has offered some TLC in the form of remodeling and maintenance work.

The Order of the Eastern Star Memorial Chapel has undergone a major refresh, to include a new rook, tuckpointing, new HVAC system, and beautiful interior finishes. A rededication ceremony for the Chapel was scheduled over Grand Lodge Communication, but has been postponed due to the unpredictable nature of the pandemic and gathering protocols. We hope to reschedule later this summer.

In addition to highlighting the need for the Chapel’s refresh, a full campus assessment in 2019 underscored the need for water mitigation in certain areas of the century-old structure. That project has been approved with the start date planned for April 2021.

The Independent Living townhomes of Masonic Square are due for new siding, a project that will also begin as the weather warms.
