"When we reach the first of May, Earth has moved along its orbit where in the Northern Hemisphere each day is longer than the one before. The Sun is climbing in our sky, and everything in the Northern Hemisphere responds to its light. The celebration is for regeneration of life that comes with increased sunlight that is so noticeable when we reach the junction between vernal equinox and summer solstice."
- Von Del Chamberlain, Cross Quarter May Day

From Dec. 1, 2011 to March 1, 2012 Minnesota Masonic Charities matched funds raised by participating Masonic Lodges and O.E.S. Chapters throughout the state, at a 2-for-1 basis — doubling its standard dollar-for-dollar match offered year round.
Lodges and Chapters around the state used the 2:1 match to spur local campaign activities, supported by radio advertisements, banners and individual requests. Delta Lodge No. 119 in Marshall (pictured above) raised enough funds to earn a $75,000 check for its local food shelf.
The result? Nearly $800,000 contributed to several Minnesota hunger relief organizations throughout the state.
Congratulations to all participating fraternal groups- proof that we are at our most effective when we are Stronger Together!

At the 2012 Annual Communication breakfast hosted by Minnesota Masonic Charities, this year’s video premiere brought an audience of over 200 Masons and their guests to a spontaneous and rousing standing ovation.
A moving and beautifully crafted film by Junior Grand Steward Steven Johnson, (who is also Director of Media Production at the Minnesota Medical Foundation, University of Minnesota) Stronger Together shares real moments of Lodge and Chapter charitable projects that partnered with MMC matching grants and truly made a difference in their community.
And now you can get a copy of this DVD for your next meeting (including if you choose, an informative presentation by Brother John Schwietz, MMC Director of Fund Development): give us a call at 952-948-6004 to secure your copy and schedule John – you don’t want to miss this opportunity! P.S. You will need Kleenex close by…
