Minnesota College Scholarships - Signature Scholarships
Minnesota Masonic Charities Signature Scholarships, along with three donor Masonic Legacy Scholarships, are awarded annually to Minnesota high school graduating seniors who demonstrate academic and personal achievement, as well as community participation or service and overall excellence.
The Signature Scholarships are college scholarships named after five individuals who are strongly identified with the state of Minnesota through personal achievement or public service and who were personally committed to the values of Masonry in their private lives:
- James J. Hill
- Hubert H. Humphrey
- The Mayo Brothers
- Harold Stassen
- Laura Ingalls Wilder
This merit-based college scholarship opportunity is available to Minnesota high school graduating seniors with or without fraternal affiliation. Five recipients are awarded the Signature Scholarships each year. Signature Scholarships are $5000 each, renewable for four years up to $20,000.
Masonic Legacy Scholarship
The Van Tries and Mackintosh Masonic Scholarships are legacy scholarships created by individual donor gifts designated to assist students in their academic pursuits. MMC awards one Van Tries Masonic Legacy Scholarship and two Mackintosh Legacy scholarships each academic year.
Two students receive the William F. Mackintosh Masonic Legacy Scholarship for $4,000 annually (renewable up to $16,000), and one student receives the Robert and Alta Van Tries Masonic Legacy Scholarship for $4,000 annually (also renewable up to $16,000). These Minnesota scholarships will be determined from the candidate applications submitted to the Signature Scholarships program.
