MMC Matching Funds Grants
Minnesota Masonic Charities commends those men and women who give of their time and resources for these charitable efforts. Thanks to their dedication, MMC is able to provide Matching Funds Grants to every Lodge and Chapter to support programs and services.

Geographic Coverage
All grant recipients shall be located in Minnesota unless otherwise specifically approved by the Board of Directors of Minnesota Masonic Charities (MMC).
Sponsorship
Grant requests will generally be selected from those proposed through Masonic sponsorship (Lodge, Chapter etc.)
Recipients of Grants
Grant recipients will generally be 501(c)(3) public charitable organizations, but exceptions may be made for both individuals and other institutions (e.g. political subdivisions such as school districts) on a case-by-case basis based on criteria established by the Board of Directors of Minnesota Masonic Charities.
Type and Size of Grant
Matching fund projects are preferred and will ordinarily receive priority consideration. Consideration may be given to projects which propose matching with both financial and human resources. MMC provides Matching Funds Grants ranging from $100 to $50,000. Grants are for a period of one year. Recipients seeking a grant renewal must reapply using the shortened application form.
Policy Areas Supported
MMC provides Matching Funds Grants principally in support of general public welfare in the widest sense, especially for the elderly and young people. Areas of support are broadly based and include social services, health care, medical research and education.
*MMC Grants are Generally NOT Available to:
- Organizations or projects outside the State of Minnesota
- Individuals (exceptions on a case-by-case basis)
- Organizations not recognized as 501(c)(3) public charities as defined under the Internal Revenue Code and applicable regulations
- Activities that are primarily the responsibility of the Federal, state, local government, or other governmental agencies
- Pay for or support debt
- Animal welfare
- The arts
- The environment
- Nonprofit organizations with a political agenda or motivation
- Charities that are deemed to hold funds in excess of their requirements
* MMC Grant policies will not limit any grant proposal or idea from submission to its Board on a case-by-case basis.
